Gentle reminders of our shared humanity //
While I was in physical rehabilitation from a spinal injury, I began to explore digital art to help make sense of the nuanced and chaotic emotional experience of losing everyday abilities. During this time, I came across The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows by John Koenig. Chapter 1 was titled “Between Living & Dreaming,” and that’s where I wanted to exist. I became fascinated by these ambiguous words that grounded everyday feelings, which helped me navigate my own inner workings - and visualized them into the works you see above.
